Why we need you…

To allow our Students to create 48 professional quality harps over our first 4 years, and to enable us to keep those harps to support more young players, we must raise enough funds to pay for the timber & materials to make those harps.

The cost of timber, materials and strings for one professional harp is £1,600

The cost of those materials for 48 harps over our first 4 years will be £76,000

As a Community Interest Company, The Scottish School of Harp Making CIC operates on a not-for-profit basis, with assets locked to benefit the community.

The School’s work is designed to become self-sustaining over future years, with harp rental income supporting future training places and the purchase of harp making materials.

With Special Thanks to our Patrons, Angels & Supporters

Support from The Duke of Roxburghe

We are delighted to have the support of Charles Innes-Ker, The Duke of Roxburghe, who is pictured here with Mark Norris at the Scottish School of Harp Making.

Charles Innes-Ker says of the School project: “We’re pleased to see this important initiative being developed in the Scottish Borders … to secure the future of Scotland’s oldest instrument for generations to come.”
